Kicking Off Our “Holiday” Tour with Megan and the Retail Worker Life!

Good morning Owlets!!

It looks like it’s been a hot second (or perhaps cold is more accurate) since we’ve shared anything, but have no fear, for we are back! But it has been a while so we’re going to share our December topic again

We are at the end of the year! YAY! For this month’s topic, we will be discussing what the holidays mean to us. Some of us have a religious perspective on Christmas, while some of us see Christmas as a celebration of family. For this prompt, we will be exploring how the holidays are celebrated around the world using various pop culture media. We will also describe what the holidays mean to us. Now that we’ve refreshed our memories, it’s time to start sharing those very festive OWLS posts, because yes, even the Grinch is holiday cheer! First up and opening our last tour of the year is Megan who talks about the two sides of Christmas, Christmastime for the retail worker and Christmas Day for the celebrating. This is such a relatable post! Anyone else finding themselves working on the holidays?


Sometimes I try to get myself into the spirit but I just end up feeling empty. I try to force a smile and take part in festive activities but it doesn’t work. If anything it makes it worse.

I don’t hate Christmas itself. Just Christmastime.

Christmas day is another story. I love it so much as it is a big deal in my family and we go all out. It’s a wonderful day filled with joy and laughter as we reminisce on the past and all that jazz.
